Three quotes about Google by founder, Sergey Brin
1. “Google actually relies on our users to help with our marketing. We have a very high percentage of our users who often tell others about our search engine”
2. “Some say Google is God. Others say Google is Satan. But if they think Google is too powerful, remember that with search engines unlike other companies, all it takes is a single click to go to another search engine”
3. “As we go forward, I hope we're going to continue to use technology to make really big differences in how people live and work”

The Birth of Google:
- One person who had heard of Page and Brin's work was Cornell professor Jon Kleinberg, then researching bibliometrics and search technologies at IBM's Almaden center in San Jose.
- In the summer of 1997, Kleinberg visited Page at Stanford to compare notes. Kleinberg had completed an early draft of his seminal paper, "Authoritative Sources," and Page showed him an early working version of Google.
- Page told Kleinberg that he was wary of publishing. The reason? "He was concerned that someone might steal his ideas, and with PageRank, Page felt like he had the secret formula,".
- On the other hand, Page and Brin weren't sure they wanted to go through the travails of starting and running a company.
- Brin remembers speaking with his adviser, who told him, "Look, if this Google thing pans out, then great. If not, you can return to graduate school and finish your thesis." He chuckles, then adds: "I said, 'Yeah, OK, why not? I'll just give it a try.'"
Google Buys Company To Expand Into Radio:
- Google Inc. agreed yesterday to buy a radio advertising company in a further effort to extend its targeted-advertising technology beyond the Internet.
- The Internet search giant, which has already tested its advertising expertise in print media, bought dMarc Broadcasting Inc., a Newport Beach, Calif., company, for $102 million in cash.
- "Google is committed to exploring new ways to extend targeted, measurable advertising to other forms of media," Tim Armstrong, vice president of Google's advertising sales, said in a statement.
- "It's a way for Google to more effectively get into the media-planning stage of advertisers, and it may make it easier for advertisers to think about the Internet," Fratrik said.
- Google was spending so heavily on traditional media when the growth potential online remains strong.

Self Evaluation
- The use of effects that I incorporated within my production worked really well. The reason why I think they worked well because it went with the flow of the production which matched the beat as the effect would appear on screen.
- I think that the information that I have given is useful for all audiences above the age of 16 because I have used a contrast of both images and text (statistics) to back my points up about the internet.
- The soundtrack which I chose gave a greater impact for the message to get across to the audience. I chose a hard hitting beat so that it would have hopefully gave a hard hitting message across.
EBI-
- In order for my production to be improved I could of started my production earlier so I could of had the chance to browse through the software and identify all the effects and aspects the software had to offer.
- Another improvement that I could do to make my production better would be if I kept the text longer on screen so that it gives the audience a chance to read the stastics that are shown.
- My final improvement would be to add more effect and flashes within the production to give it a digital internet feeling for the audience. This way the audience can relate to the topic more in depth.

Analaysis of new digital media
I think that this production was most outstanding as the soundtrack that was given to the production worked well with what was being shown on screen as it was synchronised. Although the production was showing elements of harsh reality it included a sense of humour to attract a different audience.
I think that this particular production was second best becuase the type of edits used worked well and blended together within the production. Also, this production showed statisics which gave a greater impact on the audience as they can see the positive aspects about the internet and the negative.
I chose this certain production to be my third favourtie as I beleive that the production has a lot of potential as it gave intresting facts which were backed up by images and statistics. The layout of the production worked well with the theme as it gave a digital atmosphere to the audience which promoted the internet world.
This production was my fourth favorutie because I think that the use of colour and effects were maximised and used to the best of their ability. The production had connotations of bad and evil as the writing is in red when they are talking about isseues to do with the negative aspects of the internet.
I think that this production was 5th best because of the simple fact that it gave a lot of information to capture the audience. This production aims at A and B social demographic audiences for survaillance purposes to warn them about the negativity of the internet.
